How to experience more energy
The path to achieve more with less stress, motivate yourself to do what you desire to do.
Hey friends,
Hope you’re well. Since the last update, I’ve been getting a bunch of questions about my latest coaching program on Maven: Energy Leadership Bootcamp.
This week I want to take some time to share more about the core framework with you. I trained with iPEC and became a master practitioner on Energy Leadership Coaching in 2020. I’ve been working with 1:1 clients on these topics ever since.
I’m excited to offer this program as a small group bootcamp for anyone who want to invest in their energy and become a more effective leader in their career and life.
Who is this program for?
This program is a good fit for you if you have any of these following questions.
How can I become a better leader?
What can I do to not feel stress out?
How do I reach my goals with ease?
How can I be more engaged at work?
What’s Energy Leadership?
The energy of the mind is the essence of life. — Aristotle
We are one-hundred percent responsible for the energy that we bring into a room, into our teams, and into relationships.
Energy leadership describes our attitudes, perceptions, and perspectives. It gives us insight into what drives how we think, behave, and act.
Knowing our energy leadership levels provides us with the self-awareness that we need to become more effective in all that we do.
Energy Levels at a Glance
We view the world through filters based on our experiences, values and assumptions. Those filters will either limit or expand what we see. As result, they’ll impact how we perceive and what we think about our circumstances. This, in turn, impacts how we show up in different situations.
There are seven different energy levels to describe the types of energy a person experiences and expresses.
Here’s how someone experiencing each level of energy might react in a situation where they are on a team with a co-worker who is very forceful and directive.
Level 1: Lack of choice. Victim energy. I can’t. I have to. Fearful.
“I’m so upset. It’s like I don’t even exist - they just ignore me.”
Level 2: Anger. Combativeness. Resisting or fighting energy.
“I’m gonna tell them off. I’m so MAD!”
Level 3: Rationalizing. Fine.
“It’s okay. They’ve been here a long time and ARE on my team. I guess I can just deal with it.”
Level 4: Care. Compassion. Service to others.
“I really want the best for them and for the company. I’m happy to support them in any way I can.”
Level 5: Reconciliation. Win-win. There’s no good or bad or right or wrong.
“Where’s the opportunity here? How can we both win?”
Level 6: Intuition. Creative genius. The space of brilliant visionaries.
“We’re all connected and everything here has value and purpose.”
Level 7: Complete passion for all aspects of life. Oneness.
“I feel complete passion and joy in this, and all situations.”
While you might notice that level 1 and 2 are largely catabolic and probably won’t bring about the greatest results, there is no good or bad energy. There are advantages and disadvantages to all the levels.
Each type of energy has inherent advantages and disadvantages and can be consciously used to reach specific goals. It’s also normal for us to cycle up and down the spectrum… we rarely hang out at one level all the time.
What’s your go-to energy level?
The research-backed Energy Leadership Index (ELI) assessment can help you look closely at where and how you’re investing your energy.
This isn't a personality test, but an attitudinal assessment that puts a numerical value to the types of energy a person experiences and expresses. The assessment was recommended by Forbes as one of the 11 assessments every executive should take.
By enrolling in the Energy Leadership Bootcamp, you'll receive an 11-page ELI assessment report along with a personalized debrief prepared by your coach (me).
Designed for everyday leaders
When we hear the term “leadership,” we often think of CEOs, managers, elected officials, or other influential people.
But becoming a leader doesn’t require a specific job title.
In theory, we’re all leaders, every day, in every area of our lives.
That means that no matter who you are or what you do, you have the opportunity to lead when interacting with another person.
The question really isn’t “are you a leader?”
It’s “how skillfully can you lead in your everyday life?”
Everyday leaders are parents, partners, teachers, therapists, caregivers, entrepreneurs, HR managers, consultants… the list goes on and on.
Each of us has the power to identify and shift our own energies to better serve our team, our loved ones, and anyone else we interact with.
I look forward to supporting you.
